CCRESS is the Catholic Conference of Religious Educators in State Schools in NSW-ACT. CCRESS draws its membership from every Catholic Diocese in NSW and the ACT and exists to assist Bishops to promote the evangelising mission of the Catholic Church through the work of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD). Bishop Peter Ingham (Wollongong Diocese) has been allocated the responsibility by the NSW-ACT Bishops for issues associated with the work of CCD via CCRESS.
Throughout the NSW and ACT, over 5000 Catholic Catechists weekly are engaged in helping to make Jesus known and loved. They participate in this wonderful Apostolate of their Bishop as members of Parish and Diocesan Teams by authentically sharing the faith of the Church with young people, following approved curriculums. The work of CCRESS aims to support the Bishops to nurture Catechists as they participate in this evangelising mission.
